Day 18
Praying for our Nation
Prayer Points and Scripture:
4. “I urge you, first of all, to pray for all people. Ask God to help them; intercede on their behalf, and give thanks for them. Pray in this way for kings and all who are in authority so that we can live peaceful and quiet lives marked by godliness and dignity.” 1 Timothy 2:1-5
- “Then if my people who are called by my name will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, I will hear from heaven and will forgive their sins and restore their land.” 2 Chronicles 7:14
- Pray a prayer of humility and surrender to His will before you begin this time of intercession for our nation.
- Ask Him to bring healing and solutions regarding COVID-19 in the US.
- “Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres. Love never fails.” 1 Corinthians 13:4-7
- Pray that each of us in our nation would show love toward one another (no matter the religion, sex, color, sexual identification, lifestyle, income, etc.) as Christ demonstrated for us. Ask to be a carrier of His love today that others would come to know Him.
- “We do not make requests of you because we are righteous, but because of your great mercy. Lord, listen! Lord, forgive! Lord, hear and act! For your sake, my God, do not delay, because your [nation] and your people bear your Name.” Daniel 9:19
Pray that God would hear our prayers and move in mighty ways in our nation in areas of injustice, corruption, racism, greed, etc.
Lord, we repent as a nation for the times we’ve partnered with injustice, corruption, racism, greed, etc.
Pray that God would show us mercy where we have done wrong in His sight as a nation.
4. “I urge you, first of all, to pray for all people. Ask God to help them; intercede on their behalf, and give thanks for them. Pray in this way for kings and all who are in authority so that we can live peaceful and quiet lives marked by godliness and dignity.” 1 Timothy 2:1-5
- Pray for all those in the federal government. Pray for President Trump, his cabinet, congress, senate--anyone in leadership or authority in this nation. Ask for wisdom, heavenly strategies/solutions for problems, protection, boldness to do the right thing, and strength. Pray for their families. Pray for those who do not know Him that they would come to salvation.
- “I will give them a heart to know me, that I am the Lord. They will be my people, and I will be their God, for they will return to me with all their heart.” Jeremiah 24:7
Pray for revival. That this country and these next generations would come to know Jesus with their whole hearts and lives.
End this time by listening to "In America" by Austin French, giving the burden of this nation back to Jesus, and asking Him to prompt you to pray for anyone who comes to mind today.
