Day 3: The Upper Room
The Presence of God Prayer Series: The Upper Room
A Place To Be IN God’s Presence
“Prayer is Where Earth Meets Heaven and Heaven touches Earth”
God created us to be in His Presence. One of the expressions we use at Stonecrest to help us imagine being in God’s Presence is the “Upper Room”. During Jesus’s time on earth He purposefully met with His disciples in a physical place referred to as the “Upper Room”. The “Upper Room” in our context is the space we make in our lives where we choose to pursue and meet with God by thinking of, talking to, and listening for the promises and comfort of His “voice”.
Prayer and or Action Steps:
Would you consider reading the following three verses and ask God to bring you into the awareness that He is with you:
During your time with God write down your concerns, fears, uncertainties. Name them one by one in an audible voice and ask God to carry them for you today. All of the promises of God are met in the Upper Room. We’re praying for you as you make the choice to go into His Presence today.

- The Upper Room is the closest place to heaven on earth.
- Christ’s upper room on earth is the place through which God first downloads His kingdom advancing strategies.
- The upper room is where we fulfill our ultimate assignment on earth-to minister to the Presence of Christ.
Prayer and or Action Steps:
Would you consider reading the following three verses and ask God to bring you into the awareness that He is with you:
- To Protect You- “God is our refuge and strength, an ever-present help in trouble. Therefore, we will not fear, though the earth give way and the mountains fall into the heart of the sea.” (Psalm 46:1-2)
- To Direct You- “But when he, the Spirit of truth, comes, he will guide you into all truth. He will not speak on his own; he will speak only what he hears, and he will tell you what is yet to come.” (John 16:13)
- To Reveal His love and wisdom and personhood- “I keep asking that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the glorious Father, may give you the Spirit of wisdom and revelation, so that you may know Him better.” (Eph. 1:17)
During your time with God write down your concerns, fears, uncertainties. Name them one by one in an audible voice and ask God to carry them for you today. All of the promises of God are met in the Upper Room. We’re praying for you as you make the choice to go into His Presence today.
