Day 5: Be Still
Then Moses said to Him, "If your Presence does not go with us, do not send us up from here".
Exodus 33:15
Moses offers us a great reminder [in verse 15] that can apply to our situation today. We need the LORD'S Presence because without Him we can't do anything. In God’s presence, we can have HOPE, we can move forward, and we can experience His peace!
As a leader, Moses knew the importance of having the LORD'S Presence with them [Moses and the Israelites]. He recognized that the Lord was their source of strength, hope, direction, peace…their covering. In Exodus 33:15 we can see Moses’ heart as he says, "LORD, if Your Presence does not go with us, I don’t want to move from this place". In other words, "I need You!". He was convinced that without the LORD'S Presence, life would be hopeless. He also knew that it was the LORD'S Presence that identified them [Israelites] as different from ALL the people who were upon the face of the earth, because they had found grace in the LORD'S sight.
Listen to God’s answer to Moses' bold request: "...My presence shall go with you, and I will give you rest" (verse 14). What a great promise we can trust even today! That no matter what trials we face, you'll always be able to find a quiet rest in the Presence of the LORD!"
So, today could I encourage you to talk to God, just as Moses did. Seek His face and ask that His Presence be with you. If you choose to welcome Jesus' presence in your life, you will experience His peace in the midst of the storms. In His Presence anxiety and worries must lessen. Today, you can choose to live at rest, knowing God has everything under control! Choose His Presence today over the world's panic…REST IN HIM TODAY!
Prayer and or Action Steps:
Choose to rest in Him today!
